
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL), which is the highest division of women's soccer in the United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team between 2018 and 2020 with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. After graduating early from the University of California, Berkeley and playing for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was picked as the first overall selection in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. Morgan made her professional debut there , and was a key player in winning the league title. Morgan 22, then 22 years aged, was the smallest national player at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011, where she was second. In the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final game against Canada. She finished 2012 with 28 goalsand 21 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score both 20 and 20 goals. It made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to reach 20 goals in one season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was an FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan played a key role in helping the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2019. Morgan was selected on the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
